Why ML4 systems get dirty

Mossend, Orbiston, Tannochside and Viewpark housing is largely mid-century, and many systems have run for decades on original steel radiators with no inhibitor. The result is magnetite sludge that collects in the bottom of radiators, blocks the heat exchanger and destroys pumps.

The fix that lasts

A proper power flush with a magnetic filter fitted afterwards and inhibitor dosed into the system. On badly affected Bellshill properties we sometimes recommend replacing the worst two or three radiators rather than flushing them, because a corroded radiator will simply shed more debris into the new boiler.
